Jason Ward, who runs the Engaging the Disengaged programme (for more information click here) for Liverpool World Centre has written an article for Sapere regarding what the programme is about and the techniques he uses with participants. Sapere is the educational charity which promotes Philosophy for Children (P4C) in schools and communities and Jason writes how P4C has become an integral part of the project, saying:
“No matter what reason pupils were chosen for the project, P4C has helped them to change and develop as people.”
Liverpool World Centre are currently writing a resource detailing the effectiveness of P4C on engaging those young people at risk of exclusion. It will include activities, theoretical arguments and case studies to help educators employ this model in their classroom.
