Introduction to Communities of Philosophical Enquiry
UPCOMING FREE ONLINE TRAINING
October 7th at 10-1:00pm & October 8th at 10-1:30pm
The online training is free through the EU-funded InterCap project. This training will explore how we can use critical thinking to understand our complex and challenging world. Communities of Philosophical Enquiry (COPE) is a method that promotes skills of questioning, reasoning and dialogue, particularly relevant to critically exploring complex and controversial issues in schools and community contexts. Using online tools to their full potential, we will explore practical techniques, resources and ideas for promoting creative, critical thinking, with a focus on migration and sustainable development. This course is aimed at anyone working in a community organisation or the education sector where critical thinking and open dialogue plays an important role.
This training will provide:
-an introduction to COPE methodology including ideas for getting started and stimulating thinking
-how to structure and facilitate a process which both creates a ‘safe space’ for dialogue on controversial topics, and
– encourages critical and philosophical thinking
