International Climate Action Network (I-CAN)

International Climate Action Network (I-CAN)

The I-CAN project is a collaboration between educators in France, Hungary, Italy and the United Kingdom. It draws together teachers wanting to engage children to think critically about climate change, collaborate sustainably and act justly.

The project will support teachers and educators with training and resources to prepare them to talk about climate change and help children lead conversations about related complex and controversial topics.

How?

The project will involve teachers in four phases, including:

  • Teacher training in Community of Enquiry and introduction to Climate Conferences (online)
  • Further training on how to run a Climate Conference event (COP) in Italy October 2021
  • Joining an international community of schools to share ideas and actions on Climate Change.
  • Teachers delivering activities in classrooms and running Climate Conference events
